Checking In

Where to begin?  I apologize for neglecting my blog.  I have started a YouTube channel and I have been having fun with that and now I'm finding a balance between the two.  Tonight I would just like to recap some of the stuff I have been doing and what's coming up.

As I type this, I have just come out of an intense acting class.  I'm in a scene study class with Alan Feinstein, and tonight he gave me a scene that had me in tears before I even put it up.  He gave us the assignment of finding 3 desires to think of as we began the scene, and just thinking of the desires broke my heart so deeply that it was hard to hold it together until I was allowed to break.  After I finish this I may try to find some Aziz Ansari standup on YouTube because he makes me laugh and I need to lighten my mood.  Grace Helbig also helps with the feels.

When I began blogging I was excited about every little product that would sponsor my blog...

Pictured above are the products I have to review and a few are missing.  I would say things are really picking up.  There are a few products missing from this photo and I have two more coming in the mail.  I have my work cut out for me.  I desire to do something different than I have with them.  I want to do something a bit more cinematic and fun for the vlogs and I'm still trying to figure out how to get creative with the blog reviews.  My new camera doesn't arrive until Wednesday so we may be in for one more boring vlog.

I am also partnering with MetLife to do a Twitter campaign for women and finance.

As I watch my blog business gain traction and I have found that I love making videos and I wonder why I haven't been doing this longer.  It isn't easy to figure out what to post, or to figure out if I want to or if it's worth it, but I keep doing it anyways.  Perhaps, for me, it's a caveman way of leaving my mark, writing on the wall perhaps for future generations to come across and see how I lived.  That's probably a romantic way of looking at it, but I still press on.

I will be posting one review a week here and two on my vlog.  I will also be posting one general blog about life here and a weekly family vlog on YouTube.

If you haven't checked out my YouTube channel, the link is on the right side of this blog.  Or you can find it here.  I am up to 257 subscribers and over 1300 views.  I will keep you posted as it grows, at 10,000 views I will throw a Little party!  I decided to get serious with it three weeks ago and it's awesome to see how it's grown.  Admittedly, I was near the point of deleting it, then gave it a last go and almost did away with my blog when I realized, this isn't about numbers or money or anything else, this is about me communicating in my long-winded natural way.

Thanks for coming along for the ride with me!  Also, follow me on Twitter and let's pump up the MetLife posts and we can all get educated about our finances and pumped for a solid a future!

And also, babies are cute...

Especially Miss Cora, who apparently hates shoes.

InstaNatural Dead Sea Mud Mask Review

For the past month, every Wednesday evening, I have been using the InstaNatural Sea Mud Mask.

If you have read any of my other reviews on this amazing company...you can skip this part.  If you are new, check this out.

They are one of Amazon's top sellers.

They do not test on animals.

Please see website linked above for further info or check my blog for my past reviews!

So, now to the business of what this felt like.

What I like about this mask is that it is actually mud.  It isn't a ton of weird ingredients that make a paste that resembles nothing of mud.  It is a mud mask for real, legit.

I applied a thin layer, because you can't apply a thick one and I let it sit for 10 minutes.

This is a Dead Sea Mud Mask so it is composed of ingredients from the Dead Sea such as magnesium, sodium, bromine, potassium and calcium.  These things pull out excess toxin, dirt and oil.  It is great for eliminating blackheads, acne and large pores.  I don't have dry skin so I can only use it for 10 but if your skin is oily you can leave it on for up to 20 minutes.

It feels a little uncomfortable after it dries so it's nice to wash it off with cool water.  After, I apply a soothing serum and then my nightly moisturizer.   If you are looking for a luxurious mask that will give you a spa-like experience, then you would love this.  During this publishing they are offering a half off special but I'm not sure how long that will last!

This product was given to me to review.  The opinions are mine and I enjoyed using InstaNatural Dead Sea Mud Mask.  If you click on the affiliate link I may receive a commission.  If you don't, it's all good, I just want you to enjoy your skin as much as I enjoy mine!

An Open Letter to My Younger Self

If you are following my blog then you know I have jumped over to YouTube to start making more vlogs than blogs.  The main reason I have done this is because I have fun making videos, I mean, I did move to Hollywood to be an actor so it makes sense I would eventually create my own content considering I've been told to do it since I got here.  There is a trend on YouTube right now called #dearme.  It's a movement to empower young women by saying what you would say to your younger self if you had the chance.  I decided I would like to do this on my blog in the form of a letter.

Dear Christy,

Most of your life you have been called little Christy Clark, which is strange because when you become an adult you will get married and your name will be Christy Little.

I would like to tell you that you don't have to worry about the things people say about you.  When you walk into a room and it gets silent because the girls have all been talking about you, I want you to take a deep breath and relax.  I acknowledge that it's truly painful to experience that and I'm sorry you went through it, but you won't see those bitches again and you won't even remember their names.  The people who matter have stayed in your life and the ones who didn't have vanished.

I want you to know you are beautiful.  You won't get fat until you have a baby so stop obsessing over the weight you think you have gained.

Stop worrying.  That guy who didn't call you didn't matter.  That job you didn't get was a good thing.  You live free and fast and that's okay.  I am glad you did so stop judging yourself as you experience things.

Enjoy every moment you have with Bailey.  She will be gone from your life before you know it.  Dogs don't live as long as people and that is life's cruel twist.  Love her, take more hikes with her and pet her and smell her as much as you can.  In the blink of an eye she will be gone and it will be one of the saddest days of your life.  So squeeze her for me and whisper I love you into her ear.

You will heal from the creative monsters that cross your path.  Remember when Jojo Nichols told you not to sing Memory from Cats?  Remember how she made a point to tell the class how bad you did at an iconic song and why that's a bad choice for an audition?  Well, you will meet Betty Buckley and she will be one of your greatest teachers and she will tell you to sing whatever damn song you want.  The blessing you get from this Broadway diva will be enough for you to finally find the strength to get to L.A.  And pay no mind to how you got here, you did it, that's all that matters.

Finally, just believe in who you are.  For a long time you are all you've got so take care of you and don't worry as much.  It will all work out the way it should.

I love you,
Your future self,
Christy Little

InstaNatural Retinol Skin Moisturizer

My morning routine now consists of InstaNatural Products.  I love them.  I am thrilled I was able to test out their products for my honest feedback.

Years ago I remember looking at a woman's face when I was working on a film set here in L.A.  She wasn't an actress, she was part of the crew.  Her face was smooth, milky and flawless and I'm quite sure she was over 50.  I remember I just blurted out,

"your skin looks amazing"

Since that day, I have wanted someone to say that to me.  However, I wasn't sure exactly how that would happen.  I tried all the expensive products.  I tried Dermalogica Age Smart, Philosophy and random stuff my mom would find on home shopping channels.

Nothing really worked.  The Dermalogica worked great as a cleanser but did nothing for moisturizing my aging skin.  The moisturizer made it dry and flaky and it took on a white tint.  I also tried a weird pyramid scheme skincare routine that made my neck break out with flakes and dry skin...gross.

So, basically, I gave up.  I switched to a healthy diet and figured I just wasn't meant to have clear, smooth skin.

The other day at work, a coworker and I were talking, and out of nowhere she said,

"your skin looks amazing!"

Yay!  I did it.  It may not be milky and white, like that woman's all those years ago, but it's smooth and a little tan because I work on the Malibu Pier.  I like that it has a glow, I'm sure being a new mom and new wife help, but finding a good product to nourish my skin adds to the entire package!

In other news, I'm adding two videos per week to my YouTube page, so if you haven't subscribed, please do so here... My Little Tales.  I have been blogging less because I have been taking an acting class as well as focusing my attention on my vlogs.

Some of this post was sponsored by BrandBacker and InstaNatural however the opinions and experiences are mine and mine alone.
